Protection of plasmid DNA by a Ginkgo biloba extract from the effects of stannous chloride and the action on the labeling of blood elements with technetium-99m
Silvana Ramos Farias Moreno,Silvana Ramos Farias Moreno,R. S. Freitas,Emely Kazan Rocha,G.L. Lima-Filho .,Mario Bernardo-Filho +5 more
TL;DR: The effect of EGb on the tested systems may be due to its chelating action with theStannous ions and/or pertechnetate or to the capability to generate reactive oxygen species that could oxidize the stannous ion.
Effect of Peumus boldus on the labeling of red blood cells and plasma proteins with Technetium-99m
TL;DR: Analysis of the soluble and insoluble fractions showed a rapid uptake of the radioactivity by blood cells in the presence of the drug, whereas there was a slight decrease in the amount of 99mTc radioactivity in the TCA-insoluble fraction of plasma.

Cinnamomum zeylanicum extract on the radiolabelling of blood constituents and the morphometry of red blood cells: in vitro assay.
Monica Oliveira Benarroz,Adenilson de Souza da Fonseca,Gabrielle de Souza Rocha,J.N.G. Frydman,J.N.G. Frydman,Vanessa Câmara da Rocha,Marcia de Oliveira Pereira,Mario Bernardo-Filho,Mario Bernardo-Filho +8 more
TL;DR: Results showed that the cinnamon extract decreased significantly the %ATI on BC, IF-P and IF-BC, and although the results were obtained with animals, precaution is suggested in interpretations of nuclear medicine examinations involving the labelling of blood constituents in patients who are using cinnamon.

An aqueous extract of Pfaffia sp. does not alter the labeling of blood constituents with technetium-99m and the morphology of the red blood cells
Joelma Fonseca de Oliveira Fernandes,Joelma Fonseca de Oliveira Fernandes,Lavínia C. Brito,J.N.G. Frydman,Sebastião David Santos-Filho,Mario Bernardo-Filho +5 more
TL;DR: This extract of Pfaffia sp.
Effects of clove (Caryophyllus aromaticus L.) on the labeling of blood constituents with technetium-99m and on the morphology of red blood cells
Severo de Paoli,Tania Santos Giani,Tania Santos Giani,Tania Santos Giani,Giuseppe Antonio Presta,Giuseppe Antonio Presta,Marcia de Oliveira Pereira,Marcia de Oliveira Pereira,Adenilson de Souza da Fonseca,José Brandão-Neto,Aldo Cunha Medeiros,Sebastião David Santos-Filho,Mario Bernardo-Filho +12 more
TL;DR: The results indicate that clove extract presents chemical compounds that interfere with the radiolabeling of blood constituents and alter the morphology of red blood cells by oxidative/chelating actions or interacting with the cellular membrane structure.
