Factor VII -323 decanucleotide D/I polymorphism in atrial fibrillation: implications for the prothrombotic state and stroke risk.
Vanessa Roldán,Francisco Marín,Rocío González-Conejero,Antonio García-Honrubia,Silvia Martí,Aranzazu Alfaro,Mariano Valdés,Javier Corral,Gregory Y.H. Lip,Vicente Vicente +9 more
TL;DR: It is found that FVII Ins −323 allele could be associated with a lower stroke risk in AF, whereas the 807C/T polymorphism may increase the risk.

Oral anticoagulation improves the prognosis of octogenarian patients with atrial fibrillation undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention and stenting
Luis Caballero,Juan M. Ruiz-Nodar,Francisco Marín,Vanessa Roldán,José Hurtado,José Valencia,Sergio Manzano-Fernández,Francisco Sogorb,Mariano Valdés,Gregory Y.H. Lip +9 more
TL;DR: In this article, a significant proportion of octogenarian patients with atrial fibrillation undergo percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) with stenting, requiring a period of triple therapy with dual antiplatelet agent plus oral anticoagulation (OAC).

A study of the SCN5A gene in a cohort of 76 patients with Brugada syndrome.
Esperanza García-Molina,Javier Lacunza,Francisco Ruiz-Espejo,María Sabater,Arcadio García-Alberola,Juan R. Gimeno,F. Canizares,A García,P. Martinez,Mariano Valdés,Tovar I +10 more
TL;DR: Patients with mutations seemed to have more spontaneous type I ECG, but no differences in syncope or arrhythmic events compared with patients without mutations, and larger studies are needed to evaluate the role of polymorphisms in the SCN5A in the expression of the phenotype and prognosis.
