Localization of nitrate reduction in ferns and its relationship to environment and physiological characteristics
TL;DR: The capacity for nitrate reduction was shown to be present in the roots and shoots of all fern species examined in this paper, irrespective of the availability of external nitrate. But root nitrate assimilation was most pronounced in shade ferns.

Ecophysiology of xerophytic and halophytic vegetation of a coastal alluvial plain in northern Venezuela: IV. Tillandsia flexuosa Sw. and Schomburgkia humboldtiana Reichb., epiphytic CAM plants.

TL;DR: A comparison of the performance of two epiphytes with crassulacean acid metabolism was made during the rainy season and dry season at the Ciénega el Ostional, Chichiriviche in northern Venezuela, it would seem that T. flexuosa has better physiological characteristics for maintenance of carbon acquisition during the dry season.

TL;DR: The capacity for nitrate reduction was shown to be present in the roots and shoots of all fern species examined, and the activity of chloroplastic glutamine synthetase appeared to be correlated with photorespiratory potential.

Stachyose synthesis in seeds of adzuki bean (Vigna angularis): molecular cloning and functional expression of stachyose synthase
TL;DR: The recombinant protein was immunologically reactive with polyclonal antibodies raised against stachyose synthase purified from adzuki bean and was shown to be a functional stachyOSE synthase with the same catalytic properties as its native counterpart.

Effects of elevated CO2 concentrations on photosynthesis, growth and reproduction of branches of the tropical canopy tree species, Luehea seemannii Tr. & Planch.
TL;DR: In this article, small open-top chambers were used to enclose branchlets that were at a height of between 20 and 25 m in the canopy of the tree species Luehea seemannii Tr. & Planch in a tropical forest in Panama.
