TL;DR: A high frequency of aberrant hypermethylation of several genes, including MYOD1, CHRNA3 and MTHFR in UADT tumors, is revealed and a potential mechanism by which environmental factors may deregulate key cellular genes involved in tumor suppression and contribute to UadT cancers is suggested.

Dyego Leandro Bezerra de Souza,Maria Paula Curado,María Milagros Bernal,Javier Jerez-Roig,Paolo Boffetta +4 more
TL;DR: It was observed that the increase in the number of deaths occurs mainly because of population changes (size and age structure); an increase is predicted for anal and penile cancers in men and consequently an increase in mortality rates is observed for these types of cancers, unlike what is expected for human papillomavirus-related cancers in women.
