TL;DR: In this paper, the authors analyzed whether the productivity gains associated with learning-by-exporting (LBE) depend on the intensity of the firm's exporting activity and found that the yearly average gains in productivity are larger for those firms that increase their export-to-sales ratio.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors examined the relationship between indicators of competitive pressure and innovation incentives using panel data of Spanish manufacturing firms for the period 1990-2006, and found that product market substitutability, entry costs and market size significantly affect the probability to introduce product and process innovations but that the effect of these variables differs among the type of innovation.
