Meta-analysis of clopidogrel pretreatment in acute coronary syndrome patients undergoing invasive strategy
Ramez Nairooz,Marco Valgimigli,Yogita Rochlani,Naga Venkata Pothineni,Sameer Raina,Partha Sardar,Debabrata Mukherjee,Srihari S. Naidu,David M. Shavelle +8 more
TL;DR: In ACS patients undergoing PCI, clopidogrel pretreatment was associated with significantly lower 30day all-cause mortality and major adverse cardiovascular events without increased major bleeding events.

Different clinical models of CD34 + cells mobilization in patients with cardiovascular disease
Elisa Cangiano,Caterina Cavazza,Gianluca Campo,Marco Valgimigli,Gloria Francolini,Patrizia Malagutti,Claudio Pratola,Roberto Ferrari +7 more
TL;DR: Myocardial necrosis with simultaneous elevation of VEGF and SDF-1α causes a significant CD34 + cells mobilization in patients with cardiovascular disease.

The remarkable story of a wonder drug, which now comes to an end in the primary prevention setting: say bye-bye to aspirin!
TL;DR: A meta-analysis and trial sequential analysis of randomized trials evaluating the efficacy and safety of aspirin among patients without prior known history of atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease concluded that cardiovascular mortality or stroke did not differ in patients with or without aspirin, which seriously contributes to the unfavourable risk/benefit profile of aspirin in the primary prevention setting.

Long-Term Prognostic Impact of Restenosis of the Unprotected Left Main Coronary Artery Requiring Repeat Revascularization
Jens Wiebe,Constantin Kuna,Tareq Ibrahim,Martin Lösl,Salvatore Cassese,Sebastian Kufner,Heribert Schunkert,Robert A. Byrne,Karl-Ludwig Laugwitz,Marco Valgimigli,Gert Richardt,Julinda Mehilli,Adnan Kastrati +12 more
TL;DR: Patients who underwent stenting of the unprotected left main coronary artery (ULMCA) after stent failure seem to have a greater impact on mortality after TLR than other variables and the type of repeat revascularization and the underlying stent did not influence the mortality.

Cardiac Nerve Growth Factor Overexpression Induces Bone Marrow-derived Progenitor Cells Mobilization and Homing to the Infarcted Heart.
Marco Meloni,Daniela Cesselli,Andrea Caporali,Andrea Caporali,Giuseppe Mangialardi,Elisa Avolio,Elisa Avolio,Carlotta Reni,Orazio Fortunato,Stefania Martini,Paolo Madeddu,Marco Valgimigli,Evgeni V. Nikolaev,Leszek Kaczmarek,Gianni D Angelini,Antonio Paolo Beltrami,Costanza Emanueli,Costanza Emanueli +17 more
TL;DR: The results suggest a novel role for NGF in BM-derived PCs mobilization/homing following MI, and newly illustrate the temporal profile of osteoclast and activation of MMP9, PCs expansion in the BM, and liberation/homes to the injured myocardium.
