Comprehensive Review and Analysis of Glazing Systems towards Nearly Zero-Energy Buildings: Energy Performance, Thermal Comfort, Cost-Effectiveness, and Environmental Impact Perspectives
Saman Abolghasemi Moghaddam,C. Serra,Manuel Gameiro da Silva, nuno Simoes +3 more
TL;DR: This comprehensive review assesses glazing systems for nearly zero-energy buildings (NZEBs) across four critical perspectives: energy performance, thermal comfort, cost-effectiveness, and environmental impact, considering their interrelationships and climate change implications.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors describe the XENON100 data analyses used to assess the target-intrinsic background sources radon, thoron and krypton, and report an observed reduction in concentrations of radon daughters that they attribute to the plating-out of charged ions on the negatively biased cathode.
A procedure for identifying chemical and biological risks for books in historic libraries based on microclimate analysis
TL;DR: A new procedure for identifying possible risks for books kept in historic libraries, addressed to all those historic libraries where large collections of old and rare books are stored and preserved, is presented.

Methodology for calculating an atmospheric pressure-sensitive thermal comfort index PMVaps
TL;DR: In this article, a formulation named PMV-PS for predicting an atmospheric pressure-sensitive thermal comfort index (PMVaps) was proposed, which was calibrated with data at sea level and tested for a set of cases considering different values of metabolic activity rate, thermal resistance of clothing and environmental parameters.
