Protected areas shape the spatial distribution of a European lynx population more than 20 years after reintroduction
Jörg Müller,Jörg Müller,Manfred Wölfl,Sybille Wölfl,Dennis W. H. Müller,Torsten Hothorn,Marco Heurich +6 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors used lynx monitoring data from 2005 to 2010 from 530 municipalities in eastern Bavaria and spatial estimates of roe deer densities to test the predictions that the probability of lynx occurrence (confirmed or unconfirmed) increases with decreasing distance to the national park area, increasing forest cover, increasing proportion of state-owned forests, increasing roe deers density and decreasing human activity.

Nora Magg,Jörg Müller,Christoph Heibl,Klaus Hackländer,Sybille Wölfl,Manfred Wölfl,Ludek Bufka,Jaroslav Červený,Marco Heurich +8 more
TL;DR: In this article, the availability of suitable habitat along the Austrian-German-Czech border was assessed, and it was shown that the Bohemian-Bavarian lynx population is not in equilibrium with habitat suitability.

Anja Molinari-Jobin,Eric Marboutin,Sybille Wölfl,Manfred Wölfl,Paolo Molinari,Michael Fasel,Ivan Kos,Mateja Blažič,Christine Breitenmoser,Christian Fuxjäger,Thomas Huber,Iztok Koren,Urs Breitenmoser +12 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors use the case of the Eurasian lynx lynx in the Alps to discuss how to implement existing directives and recommendations, as well as how to integrate biological concepts, into practical conservation and wildlife management.

Marco Heurich,Thomas Engleder,Manfred Wölfl,Wolfgang Scherzinger +3 more
- 01 Jan 2005
TL;DR: In this article, the wolf occurrence in the area under study corresponds well with the population increase in Slovakia, and the dead animals, which were analysed morphometrically, relate to wolves, but the genetic analysis is still missing.
An observation of aggressive physical interaction between free-ranging lynx
Manfred Wölfl,Sybille Wölfl +1 more
TL;DR: During a study of Lynx lynx in the Jura Mountains of Switzerland, a fight between a radio-collared adult female and an unmarked lynx was observed.
