The use of online store as purchasing media of goods and services increased rapidly in Indonesia. The number of online store owners also rose sharply such that competition unavoidable. Website quality is one of the factors that influece trust and trust will generate loyalty of the online shop customer. This research aimed to analyze the influence of website quality on trust and the influence trust on customer loyalty in East Java area. The research was conducted by distributing questionnaires to 249 respondens which selected randamly at Petra Christian University campuss. Data was analyzed using SPSS for Windows Version 16 and SmartPLS Version 1.01. The results obtained, website quality influence trust, and trust influence customer loyalty.

Previous research has established that online shopping is the function of a series of consumer evaluation and assessment of e-commerce sites. However, building and maintaining trust in the virtual environment is indeed a complex process and by extension takes time to fully achieve it. This takes the form of assessing the technology as well as the trustworthiness of the vendor in delivering its promises to the customers The aim of this research was to investigate specific determinants or factors that influence consumer online trust in the B2C e-commerce with a focus on Ekaterinburg, Russian Federation consumers. In other words, constructs such as perceived security, perceived privacy, perceived third party assurance, perceived reputation, perceived familiarity and perceived website quality and their relationship with online trust in the B2C context were studied. In conducting the research, a convenience sampling technique was adopted in carrying out the survey. Questionnaires were distributed to the target respondents and the data was analyzed using SPSS version 24. A PearsonâÂÂs correlation was used to test the six hypotheses identified in this study. Meanwhile, the results showed that five of the hypotheses were statistically significant with p 0.05, making us to reject the hypothesis as it was not statistically significant. Furthermore, a multiple regression analysis was also conducted in order to ascertain which of the constructs have a major influence with reference to consumer online trust. The results provided evidence that perceived security has the greatest influence on online trust for EkaterinburgâÂÂs consumer. This was followed closely by perceived reputation and finally perceived privacy. This clearly shows that EkaterinburgâÂÂs e-commerce consumer population considers these factors to be very imperative in engendering their trust in the virtual B2C e-commerce environment. Determinants oOf Trust in B2c E-Commerce and their Relationship with Consumer Online Trust: A Case of Ekaterinburg, Russian Federation

The present thesis argues that the current Jordanian legal frameworks are insufficiently developed to provide an adequate level of consumer protection to redress the imbalance of power between parties in electronic commerce consumer contracts. This argument is triggered due to the Jordanian legislation placing great emphasis on the freedom of contract principle to govern all types of contracts, regardless of whether one of the contracting parties suffers from an inequality of bargaining power. This principle does not serve consumer protection as consumer contracts are usually presented on a take-it-or-leave-it basis where a consumer has no realistic bargaining opportunity. On the other hand, such a principle does not allow the legislature to intervene in the contract in order to redress that imbalance. By depending on the freedom of contract principle, Jordanian legislation has, to a large extent, failed to provide consumers with an acceptable level of protection.

This subject will be analysed and discussed alongside European Union legislation in order to illustrate the existing weaknesses in the legal frameworks in Jordan in relation to consumer contracts.

After concluding the legal analysis and determining the weaknesses in Jordanian law, the thesis will provide an empirical study to measure the impact of the lack of consumer protection law on the growth of electronic commerce in Jordan. This empirical study, which has been conducted by way of a questionnaire survey, has revealed that one of the factors that prevents consumers engaging in e-commerce activities, and which undermines their confidence, is their perception of the protection provided by the law.

This thesis concludes that basic consumer protection, which aims to rebalance the power in Business-to-Consumer contracts, is essential for consumer confidence and the development of e-commerce in Jordan. There is a positive correlation between purchasing online and the protective measures selected in this thesis (i.e. information requirements, protection from unfair contract terms and consumer rights). Therefore, a comprehensive model has been suggested in order to fill the gap in the Jordanian legislation.
