Provided is an organic electroluminescence device having high luminous efficiency, high heat resistance and an extremely long lifetime. The organic electroluminescence device of the present invention includes an organic thin film layer composed of one or more layers containing at least a light emitting layer is interposed between a cathode and an anode. The light emitting layer includes a compound containing a condensed ring and a luminescent metal complex capable of emitting light having a red-based color. It is preferable that the compound containing a condensed ring includes a host material, while the luminescent metal complex capable of emitting light having a red-based color includes a phosphorescent dopant.

Organic Electroluminescent Device

An implantable drug delivery device that uses multiple reservoir elements to contain and release doses of active pharmaceutical ingredients. The device includes a first shell element, which has a first enclosed cavity volume and forms a low-permeability barrier. The first shell element is configured to absorb light irradiation from a laser source, the laser irradiation causing a breach in the first shell element. A first active pharmaceutical ingredient is contained in the first enclosed cavity volume and is released when the first shell element is breached. The device also includes a second shell element, which has a second enclosed cavity volume and also forms a low-permeability barrier. A second active pharmaceutical ingredient is contained in the second enclosed cavity volume. The device also includes an envelope element containing the first and second shell elements.

Low-permeability, laser-activated drug delivery device

An organic light-emitting diode (OLED) display is disclosed. In one aspect, the display includes a stretchable substrate, a thin film transistor (TFT) formed over the stretchable substrate and including a plurality of electrodes, an OLED electrically connected to the TFT and including a plurality of electrodes, and a plurality of interconnection lines connected to the electrodes of the OLED and the TFT. At least one of the interconnection lines is configured to move in a stretching direction and rotate an electrode selected from the electrodes of the OLED and the TFT connected to the at least one interconnection line.

The present invention provides OLEDs of the top emission type comprising organic light-emitting (LE) elements by preventing the problems such as the widening of the power lines, the reduction in the aperture ratio caused by the widening of the upper and the lower capacitor electrodes and the short circuit between the upper and the lower electrodes caused by the roughness of the flattening layers. Two kinds of the OLEDs are provided. One is an OLED comprising a region of LE layer sandwiched between the upper and lower electrodes is formed on a power line of TFT for driving the pixel. Another comprises a region of the LE layer formed on an electrode of capacitor connected to the TFTs to control the light-emitting element. Accordingly, without forming a flattening layer on the light-emitting layer, there is no electric short circuit between the lower electrode and the upper electrode.

Organic Light Emitting Display Device

A display apparatus includes a substrate and a plurality of pixels disposed on the substrate. Each pixel includes a gate electrode disposed on the substrate, a gate dielectric layer disposed on the substrate and the gate electrode, an oxide semiconductor pattern disposed on the gate dielectric layer, a first insulating pattern disposed on the oxide semiconductor pattern that overlaps the gate electrode, a second insulating pattern disposed on the oxide semiconductor pattern and spaced apart from the first insulating pattern, source and drain electrodes spaced apart from each other on the oxide semiconductor pattern, a pixel electrode pattern disposed on the second insulating pattern to make contact with the source electrode, and a channel area defined where the oxide semiconductor pattern overlaps the gate electrode. A high carrier mobility channel is formed in the channel area when a turn-on voltage is applied to the gate electrode.

Display apparatus and method of manufacturing the same

A multi-layer barrier coating on a flexible substrate exhibits improved resistance to gas and liquid permeation. The multi-layer barrier coating generally comprises alternating polymer (24,34) and inorganic layers (22,32,42), and the layer immediately adjacent to the flexible substrate (22) and the topmost isolation layer (42) may both be inorganic layers. The surface of each deposited inorganic layers may be plasma-treated prior to the deposition of the polymer layer thereon, while the surfaces of the polymer layers are generally not plasma-treated. The multi-layer barrier coating is lightweight, preferably transparent, and has improved flexibility and resiliency, as well as resistance to cracking and delaminating.
