Biasing of closed double null poloidal divertor plates on TdeV
P. Couture,A. Boileau,R. Décoste,B.C. Gregory,C. Janicki,J.-L. Lachambre,D. Lafrance,D. Michaud,Guy G. Ross,Barry L. Stansfield,B. Terreault,G. Abel,C. Boucher,L. Gauthier,V. Glaude,E. Haddad,A. Hubbard,J. Kalnavarns,E. Knystautas,G. Le Clair,C. Liu-Hinz,H.H. Mai,F. Martin,R. Neufeld,D. Pinsonneault,N. Richard,A. Sarkissian,M. St-Onge,Dennis Whyte,W. Zuzak +29 more
TL;DR: In this paper, bias voltages applied to the divertor plates in TdeV (Tokamak de Varennes) permit fine control of several main plasma parameters, including the poloidal rotation velocity near the separatrix, microturbulence, the sawtooth period and the heat pulse propagation speed.

Comparison of three boronization techniques in TdeV
C. Boucher,F. Martin,Barry L. Stansfield,B. Terreault,G. Abel,A. Boileau,P. Brooker,P. Couture,A. Côté,R. Décoste,B.C. Gregory,E. Haddad,C. Janicki,J. Kalnavarns,E. Knystautas,J.-L. Lachambre,D. Lafrance,G. Le Clair,C.S. MacLatchy,H.H. Mai,D. Michaud,R. Neufeld,R.W. Paynter,D. Pinsonneault,D. A. Poirier,B. Quirion,G. Ratel,N. Richard,Guy G. Ross,M. St-Onge,A. Sarkissian,Dennis Whyte,W. Zuzak,Y. Hirooka,Robert W. Conn,T. Matsuda,H. G. Esser,J. Winter +37 more
TL;DR: In this paper, solid target boronization (STB) and TMB fuelling were used as fuelling gas during the plasma discharge to improve the volume averaged resistivity and radiated power.

Improvements in recycling and impurity control obtained by divertor biasing
B. Terreault,Barry L. Stansfield,J.-L. Lachambre,R. Décoste,B.C. Gregory,E. Haddad,C. Janicki,C. Liu-Hinz,D. Michaud,A. Sarkissian,W. Zuzak,C. Boucher,A. Côté,F. Martin,H.H. Mai,Guy G. Ross,M. St-Onge,Dennis Whyte +17 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a comprehensive set of diagnostics was used and those effects relating to plasma-surface interactions and their consequences, namely recycling and impurity production, were reported in the Tokamak de Varennes, with ohmic discharges and boronized walls.
16
The operation of a Langmuir/Mach probe in Tokamak de Varennes
TL;DR: A movable Langmuir/Mach probe apparatus has been successfully operated in the Tokamak de Varennes as discussed by the authors, where the densities and Mach numbers computed from four different probe models have been compared, and preliminary results of flow measurements in the TdeV indicate the presence of an appreciable poloidal velocity near the last closed flux surface.

Experimental demonstration of nondisruptive, central fueling of a tokamak by compact toroid injection.
R. Raman,François Martin,B. Quirion,M. St-Onge,J.-L. Lachambre,D. Michaud,B. Sawatzky,J. Thomas,Akira Hirose,D. Hwang,N. Richard,C. Côté,G. Abel,D. Pinsonneault,J.-L. Gauvreau,Barry L. Stansfield,R. Decoste,A. Côté,W. Zuzak,C. Boucher +19 more
TL;DR: The first results of nondisruptive, central fueling of a tokamak by the injection of an accelerated spheromak compact toroid (CT) are reported.
