Time-dependent changes in mortality and transformation risk in MDS
Michael Pfeilstöcker,Heinz Tuechler,Guillermo Sanz,Julie Schanz,Guillermo Garcia-Manero,Francesc Solé,John M. Bennett,David T. Bowen,Pierre Fenaux,François Dreyfus,Hagop M. Kantarjian,Andrea Kuendgen,Luca Malcovati,Mario Cazzola,Jaroslav Cermak,Christa Fonatsch,Michelle M. Le Beau,M. Slovak,Alessandro Levis,Michael Luebbert,Jaroslaw P. Sperr,Reinhard Stauder,Sudhir Tauro,Peter Valent,Teresa Vallespi,Arjan A. van de Loosdrecht,Ulrich Germing,Detlef Haase,Peter L. Greenberg +33 more
TL;DR: The authors' data regarding time-dependent performance of prognostic scores reflect the disparate change of risks in MDS subpopulations, whereas initially high-risk patients demonstrate decreasing risk over time, and should be considered in clinical decision making.

Monosomal karyotype in MDS: explaining the poor prognosis?
Julie Schanz,Heinz Tüchler,F. Solé,Mar Mallo,E. Luño,José Cervera,Javier Grau,Barbara Hildebrandt,M. TL;DR: The hypothesis that a high number of complex abnormalities, associated with an instable clone, define the subgroup with the worst prognosis in MDS, independent of MK is supported.

TL;DR: The IWG-PM revised IPSS-R scoring system, developed by the International Prognostic Working Group for Prognosis in MDS, shows clear improvements in prognosis in both hematology and oncology compared with the previous version.

TL;DR: Although differences in time to acute myeloid leukemia transformation did not occur, a significantly better survival in JPN was demonstrated, even after the adjustment for age and FAB subtypes, especially in lower, but not in higher prognostic risk categories.
