Bonding States in Molecular-Scale MoSI Nanowire−Gold Nanoparticle Networks
Giuseppe Compagnini,Giacomo Patanè,M Sinatra,Orazio Puglisi,Valeria Nicolosi,Dragan Mihailovic,Damjan Vengust,J. Strle +7 more
TL;DR: In this article, a detailed analysis of the structure of Mo6S9−xIx (MoSI) molecular nanowires is presented, showing that during the network formation, there is a strong chemical interaction between gold atoms belonging to the nanoparticles and the elements constituting the nanowire's skeleton.

Aggregation Phenomena and Electromagnetic Amplification Properties in Silver Nanoparticles Joined Through Highly Conjugated Carbon Chains
Giuseppe Compagnini,Gabriele Messina,Luisa D'Urso,E. Messina,M Sinatra,Orazio Puglisi,Massimo Zimbone +6 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the role of the carbon electron system has been considered in order to justify the electromagnetic field amplification and the observed surface enhanced Raman signals, which open the possibility to control the electronic transfer between different metallic nanostructures for the application in future plasmonic devices.
