Regional left ventricular function assessed by contrast angiography in acute myocardial infarction.
TL;DR: The size of ACS is a major determinant of LV dysfunction in acute MI, and compensatory mechanisms operate either through an augmented mechanical function of residual myocardium when the infarct is small, or through the Frank-Starling mechanism when the incision is large.

Comparative haemodynamic effects of dobutamine and isoproterenol in man
TL;DR: Dobutamine is a potent inotropic drug, with mild chronotropic and peripheral vascular effects and may be valuable in the management of severe heart failure not associated with hypotension.

Left ventricular compliance in acute myocardial infarction in man
TL;DR: Left ventricular end-diastolic pressure and volume were measured in 12 patients with acute myocardial infarction and the K coefficient (passive elastic modulus) was greater, and the normalised left ventricular compliance index (dV/VdP) was smaller in the infarct group than in the control group.
