Weak∗ locally uniformly rotund norms and descriptive compact spaces
TL;DR: In this article, it was shown that a dual Banach space X ∗ has an equivalent W∗LUR norm if and only if the weak topology has a σ-isolated network.

Distance to spaces of continuous functions
TL;DR: In this paper, Fabian et al. showed that for a compact space K, a uniformly bounded set H of the space of real-valued continuous functions C(K), and e⩾0, if the inequality for the oscillations is known, then H e-interchanges limits with K if and only if the oscillation inequalities are known, provided the iterated limits exist.

Banach Spaces and Topology (II)
Bernardo Cascales,I. Namioka,José Orihuela,M. Raja +3 more
- 01 Jan 2003
TL;DR: In this article, the authors discuss weak-Lindelof Banach spaces and topology and stress the interplay between the properties of weak and norm topologies, and provide a framework where AmirnLindenstrauss constructions for weakly Lindelof determined (WCG)-Banach spaces can be carried out with analogous consequences.

On dual locally uniformly rotund norms
TL;DR: In this article, the existence of an equivalent dual LUR norm on a dual Banach space can be characterized by a topological property similar to the fragmentability, and the compact spaces homeomorphic to weak* compact subsets of a dual lUR Banach spaces have the same properties as the class of Radon-Nikodým compact spaces.

Descriptive compact spaces and renorming
L. Oncina,M. Raja +1 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the class of descriptive compact spaces, the Banach spaces generated by descriptive compact subsets and their relation with renorming prob- lems are studied and analyzed.
