Lysine in Treatment of Hyperornithinemia
TL;DR: It was shown that diets containing a low protein intake are invariably associated with negative nitrogen balance and it was demonstrated that the lysine-ornithine antagonism is a physiological, safe, easy to handle therapeutic tool in hyperornithinemia.

Nitrogen balance in uremic patients on different amino acid and keto acid formulations--a proposed reference pattern.
TL;DR: Of the three formulas studied, the one that was most effective in promoting positive balance was the one having threonine as reference unit, with a relatively high tyrosine intake and lower methionine content, and histidine in the proportions found in human milk and in the egg pattern.

Renal hemodynamics in renal transplant recipients. The role of reduced kidney mass and cyclosporine administration
C. Pluvio,Emanuela dePascale,M. Pluvio,M. Carone,Mauro Giordano,Livio Luzi,Francesco Antonio Sabella,Pietro Castellino +7 more
TL;DR: It is concluded that basal GFR is related to renal volume in Tx and that the response to hyperaminoacidemia seems to be affected by chronic CsA administration, and basal but not amino acid stimulated GFR correlates with renal allograft volume.

Correlation between glomerular morphology and renal haemodynamic response to amino-acid administration in patients with IgA nephropathy
C. Pluvio,E. de Pascale,Mauro Giordano,D. Cirillo,M. Carone,M. Pluvio,Pietro Castellino,Carmelo Giordano +7 more
TL;DR: The data show that in IgA nephropathy : severe forms of glomerular lesions are associated with a complex alteration ofglomerular haemodynamic regulation, characterized by lower basal FF and loss of haemodynamics response to hyperaminoacidaemia.
