Estimation of photon dose generated by a short pulse high power laser
Yukio Hayashi,A. Fukumi,K. Matsukado,M. Mori,Hideyuki Kotaki,Masaki Kando,Liming Chen,Izuru Daito,S. Kondo,S. Kanazawa,A. Yamazaki,Koichi Ogura,Mamiko Nishiuchi,Masataka Kado,Akito Sagisaka,S. Nakamura,Z. Li,S. Orimo,T. Homma,Hiroyuki Daido +19 more
TL;DR: The authors obtain a new equation to estimate the forward component of a photon dose generated through the interaction between a target and a short pulse high power laser that can reproduce experimental results obtained and the dose result calculated at other laboratories.

Characterization of preformed plasmas with an interferometer for ultra-short high-intensity laser-plasma interactions
Akito Sagisaka,Hiroyuki Daido,Koichi Ogura,Satoshi Orimo,Yukio Hayashi,Mamiko Nishiuchi,M. Mori,Koji Matsukado,Koji Matsukado,A. Fukumi,A. Fukumi,Z. Li,Z. Li,Shu Nakamura,Shu Nakamura,K. Takagaki,Hisanao Hazama,Masayuki Suzuki,Takayuki Utsumi,Sergei V. Bulanov,Sergei V. Bulanov,Timur Zh. Esirkepov,Timur Zh. Esirkepov +22 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the evolution of an Al preformed plasma produced by a prepulse was observed before and after the arrival of the main pulse by an interferometer using a femtosecond probe pulse.

Electron Energy Spectrometer for Laser-Driven Energetic Electron Generation
Z. Li,Z. Li,Shu Nakamura,Shu Nakamura,A. Fukumi,A. Fukumi,Yukio Hayashi,Satoshi Orimo,Mamiko Nishiuchi,Akito Sagisaka,M. Mori,Toshiyuki Shirai,Yoshihisa Iwashita,Akira Noda,Hiroyuki Daido +14 more
TL;DR: An electron energy spectrometer for studying the energy spectrum of electrons emitted from solid foils irradiated by a femtosecond intense laser pulse and its calibration with a β source was described in this paper.

- 24 Jul 2009
TL;DR: In this article, the first demonstrated irradiation effect of laser-accelerated protons on human lung cancer cells was described, where in vitro A549 cells were irradiated with a proton dose of 20 Gy, resulting in a distinct formation of γ-H2AX foci as an indicator of DNA double-strand breaks.

Single-Shot Creation of Nanometer-Sized Silicon Tadpoles by Ultrahigh-Intensity Laser
Hirozumi Azuma,Hiroyuki Daido,Nobuo Kamiya,Tadashi Ito,M. Mori,Kouichi Ogura,Akito Sagisaka,Satoshi Orimo,Akihiro Takeuchi,Noritomo Suzuki,Yukio Hayashi,Hisanao Hazama,Koji Matukado,A. Fukumi +13 more
TL;DR: In this article, the creation of tadpole-like silicon nanoparticles constructed with multi-crystalline heads and amorphous tails by a high brightness fs-pulse laser was demonstrated.
