TL;DR: In a cellular model (polymorphonuclear leukocytes — PMN) the inhibitory effect of calcium entry blockers on stimulated functions (degranulation and free radical production) was highly antagonized by theophylline, and an adenosine-re ceptor coupling to the calcium entry blocker channels is suggested.
