Hydrochemical and isotopic characteristics of groundwater in the Souss Upstream Basin, southwestern Morocco
TL;DR: In this article, a study was conducted in the Souss Upstream Basin to identify the chemical characteristics and the origin of groundwater in an aquifer under semi-arid climate.

- 01 Jan 2005
TL;DR: In this paper, the application of isotope hydrological tools to infer water sources in different parts of the Souss-Massa region of Morocco has been summarized, where oxygen-18 (18O) isotopic data show a variation between −7‰ upstream and −4‰ downstream, with intermediate values in the medium part of the plain.

Isotopes and groundwater management strategies under semi-arid area: Case of the Souss upstream basin (Morocco)
L. Bouragba,Jacques Mudry,Lhoussaine Bouchaou,Youssef Hsissou,M. Krimissa,Tarik Tagma,Jean-Luc Michelot +6 more
TL;DR: The artificial recharge is low compared to the reservoir volume, due to which the renewal rate is also low, and water isotopes show a low evaporation of precipitations during infiltration.
