Ralph Weber,Jens Eyding,M. Kitzrow,Dirk Bartig,Christian Weimar,Werner Hacke,Christos Krogias +6 more
- 01 Jan 2019
TL;DR: The rate of IVT in patients with acute ischemic stroke in Germany continues to rise and has reached 14.9% nationwide and the increase of MT is even more pronounced and was triggered by the evidence after publication of the MT randomized trials.
[Availability of mechanical thrombectomy for acute stroke : Analysis of the health care reality in Germany].
Christos Krogias,Dirk Bartig,M. Kitzrow,F. Brassel,Elmar Busch,M. Nolden-Koch,Gernot Reimann,Christian Weimar,Ralph Weber,Jens Eyding +9 more
TL;DR: The mechanische thrombektomie (MT) stellt eine evidenzbasierte Therapieform bei Patienten with akutem Hirninfarkt dar.

Trends of hospitalized acute stroke care in Germany from clinical trials to bedside. Comparison of nation-wide administrative data 2008–2012

Stroke admission outside daytime working hours delays mechanical thrombectomy and worsens short-term outcome.
Robert Hoepner,Robert Hoepner,Ralph Weber,Gernot Reimann,Klaus Berger,M. Kitzrow,Sebastian Fischer,Christian Weimar,Jens Eyding,Christos Krogias +9 more
TL;DR: Treatment outside regular working hours caused a significant delay in the initiation of MT, which was associated with a decreased short-term clinical efficacy of thrombectomy and Strategies like compulsory attendance of the interventional neuroradiologist at the hospital 24/7 might result in shorter door-to-groin times and consecutive in better stroke outcome.
