TL;DR: In this article , the authors conducted a systematic review and meta-analysis to determine the prevalence of polypharmacy and its associated health consequences in CKD patients and found that patients with chronic kidney disease are at increased risk of adverse health outcomes associated with excessive medication use due to impaired kidney function and multimorbidity.
