Viral persistence in surface and drinking water: Suitability of PCR pre-treatment with intercalating dyes
TL;DR: Though the intercalating dye pre-treatment had little use for the detection of the effects of UV treatment, it was useful in the case of treatment by chlorination and less than 1 log10 difference in the results was found as compared to the infectivity measurements.

From Alpha to Omicron BA.2: New digital RT-PCR approach and challenges for SARS-CoV-2 VOC monitoring and normalization of variant dynamics in wastewater
Sébastien Wurtzer,Morgane Levert,Eloïse Dhénain,Héberte Accrombessi,Sandra Manco,N. Fagour,M. Goulet,Nicolas Boudaud,L. Gaillard,Isabelle Bertrand,Julie Challant,S. Masnada,Sam Azimi,M. Gillon-Ritz,A. Robin,Jean-Marie Mouchel,Obepine Sig,Laurent Moulin +17 more
TL;DR: In this article , the emergence of SARS-CoV-2 variants of concern (VOCs) in raw wastewater from the greater Paris area, France, was investigated.

Monitoring of SARS-CoV-2 variant dynamics in wastewater by digital RT-PCR : from Alpha to Omicron BA.2 VOC
Sébastien Wurtzer,Maxime Levert,Eloïse Dhénain,Héberte Accrombessi,Sonia Manco,N. Fagour,M. Goulet,Nicolas Boudaud,Ludovic Le Gaillard,Isabelle Bertrand,Julie Challant,Silvia Masnada,Sheyda Azimi,M. Gillon-Ritz,Abraham Robin,Jean-Marie Mouchel,SIG OBEPINE,Laurent Moulin +17 more
TL;DR: The viral dynamics in wastewater highlighted the impact of the vaccination strategy on the viral circulation in human populations but also suggested its potential effect on the selection of variants most likely to be propagated in immunized populations.
