Superconductive tunnel junctions for X-ray spectroscopy
J.B. Le grand,M.L. van den Berg,M. P. Bruijn,M. Frericks,P. A. J. de Korte,J.G. Gijsbertsen,Evert Pieter Houwman,J. Flokstra +7 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors investigated the influence of quasi-particle trapping on the performance of superconductive tunnel junctions as X-ray detectors, and showed that the trap time of excess quasiparticles from the Nb electrode to the Al trapping layer greatly influences the trapping time.

Performance of hot-electron bolometers for infrared and x-ray detection
Willem A. Mels,Marcel P. Bruijn,Henk F.C. Hoevers,M. Frericks,F. B. Kiewiet,A.C Bento,Piet A. J. de Korte +6 more
- 10 Nov 1998
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors describe typical bolometer parameters such as currentvoltage characteristics, time constants and noise equivalent power, as well as electrical test results are presented, and a loop gain of 500 combined with an electrical NEP of 2 by 10-17 W/(root)Hz has been realized for an IR bolometer.

Superconductive Junctions with Trappinglayers for the Detection of X-rays
J.B. Le grand,M. P. Bruijn,M. Frericks,W. M. Laauwen,D. Nilsson,P. A. J. de Korte,P. Valko,J.G. Gijsbertsen,Evert Pieter Houwman,J. Flokstra +9 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors presented X-ray induced pulse height and decay time spectra as a function of bias voltage, based on the time constants for trapping, excitation and tunneling calculated by means of a model for proximity layers developed by Golubov et al.
A high-Tc superconductor bolometer for remote sensing of atmospheric OH
M.J.M.E. de Nivelle,M. P. Bruijn,M. Frericks,R. de Vries,J. J. Wijnbergen,P. A. J. de Korte,Stefan Sanchez,Michael Curt Elwenspoek,T. Heidenblut,B. Schwierzi,W. Michalke,E. Steinbeiss +11 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a high-Tc superconductor transition edge bolometer for far-infrared detection is proposed, which can meet the requirements of a Fabry-Perot based satellite instrument designed for remote sensing of atmospheric OH.
Performance of superconducting transition edge bolometers for infrared photometry and X-ray micro-calorimetry
H. F. C. Hoevers,A.C Bento,M. P. Bruijn,M. Frericks,F. B. Kiewiet,W.A. Mels,P. A. J. de Korte +6 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the performance of voltage biased superconducting transition edge bolometers for infrared photometry and X-ray micro-calorimetry is described, and the possible origin of this excess noise is discussed.
