TL;DR: In this paper , a design study of the European Spallation Source neutrino super beam was carried out during the years 2018-2022 of how the 5 MW proton linear accelerator under construction in Lund, Sweden, can be used to produce the world's most intense long-baseline neutrinos beam.
The ess linac simulator: a first benchmark with tracewin
Emanuele Laface,M. Eshraqi,R. Miyamoto +2 more
- 01 Jan 2013
TL;DR: The ESS Linac Simulator, ELS as discussed by the authors, is the core of the online model used in the normal operations of the ESS linac and is capable of simulating the dynamics of the beam envelope in both transverse and longitudinal planes in real time.

Space charge and cavity modeling for the ess linac simulator
Emanuele Laface,M. Eshraqi,R. Miyamoto +2 more
- 01 Jan 2013
TL;DR: In this article, the authors present modelings of the space charge force and RF cavities used in the ESS Linac Simulator. But the simulator is under development as part of the XAL on-line model, and it will be adopted for the Ess linac operations.

Tarkeshian,Cyrille Thomas +25 more
TL;DR: The European Spallation Source (ESS) as discussed by the authors is the world's brightest neutron source, driven by a linear accelerator with an average beam power of 5MW at 2.0 GeV beam energy.
