Baseline neutrophils and derived neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio: prognostic relevance in metastatic melanoma patients receiving ipilimumab.
Pier Francesco Ferrucci,P.A. Ascierto,Jacopo Pigozzo,M. Del Vecchio,Michele Maio,G. C.Antonini Cappellini,Massimo Guidoboni,Paola Queirolo,Paola Savoia,Mario Mandalà,Ester Simeone,Sara Valpione,Maresa Altomonte,Francesco Spagnolo,Emilia Cocorocchio,Sara Gandini,Diana Giannarelli,Chiara Martinoli +17 more
TL;DR: It is suggested that a neutrophil-based index may help risk-group stratification and assist disease-management strategies and the potential predictive value of this index for response to ipilimumab should be investigated in randomized clinical trials.

Three-year follow-up of advanced melanoma patients who received ipilimumab plus fotemustine in the Italian Network for Tumor Biotherapy (NIBIT)-M1 phase II study.
A.M. Di Giacomo,P.A. Ascierto,Paola Queirolo,Lorenzo Pilla,Ruggero Ridolfi,Mario Santinami,A. Testori,Ester Simeone,Massimo Guidoboni,Andrea Maurichi,L. Orgiano,Giuseppe Spadola,M. Del Vecchio,Riccardo Danielli,Luana Calabrò,Diego Annesi,Diana Giannarelli,Cristina Maccalli,Ester Fonsatti,Giorgio Parmiani,Michele Maio +20 more
TL;DR: Long-term analysis of the NIBIT-M1 trial continues to demonstrate efficacy of ipilimumab combined with fotemustine in MM patients, and fotamustine does not seem to impair the immunologic activity of ipILimumab.

Immune checkpoint inhibitor associated vitiligo and its impact on survival in patients with metastatic melanoma: an Italian Melanoma Intergroup study.
Michele Guida,Sabino Strippoli,M. Maule,Pietro Quaglino,Alice Ramondetta,V. Chiaron Sileni,G. C.Antonini Cappellini,Paola Queirolo,Laura Ridolfi,M. Del Vecchio,Emilia Cocorocchio,A.M. Di Giacomo,L. Festino,Barbara Merelli,Marcella Occelli,S. Brugnara,Alessandro Marco Minisini,S. Sava,S. Tommasi,S. De Summa +19 more
- 09 Mar 2021
TL;DR: In this article, the authors built an observational cohort study by recruiting patients who developed vitiligo-like depigmentation (VLD) during checkpoint inhibitors, which was associated with other skin and nonskin toxicities.

Chemotherapy/radiation therapy plus/minus lonidamine in the treatment of non-small cell lung cancer (limited disease): preliminary results.
C Gallo-Curcio,I Verturo,M Rinaldi,F. Ambesi Impiombato,M. Del Vecchio,R. Tonachella,F Tropea,A Antilli,G. B. Ciottoli,M De Gregorio +9 more
TL;DR: The overall response rates, median time to progression, and median survival time were similar in both arms, and LND does not give rise to additional toxicity, although myalgia and testicular pain are characteristic side effects.

Efficacy and Safety of Ipilimumab in Patients with Pretreated, Mucosal Melanoma: Experience from Italian Clinics Participating in the European Expanded Access Programme (EAP)
M. Del Vecchio,Ester Simeone,V. Chiarion Sileni,Carmen Nuzzo,Gaetana Rinaldi,Alessandro Testori,F. De Galitiis,Paola Queirolo,Riccardo Marconcini,Michele Maio +9 more
TL;DR: Safety and early efficacy results are similar to experience in other melanoma populations, thus suggesting that treatment of ocular melanoma with ipilimumab warrants further investigation in prospective clinical trials.
