Novel microcapsules for delivery systems
TL;DR: In this article, two controlled release systems are described: a photochemical controlled release system, made of polyamide microcapsules, which releases its contents only during exposure to UV light, and an erodible delivery system which is made ofpolyanhydride microspheres and which was developed in order to release macromolecules.

Polyamide microcapsules for controlled release. I. Characterization of the membranes
Edith Mathiowitz,M.D. Cohen +1 more
TL;DR: In this article, it was found that highly crosslinked polyamides have a dense, amorphous structure and are of high tensile strength, while linear poly amides are very porous and brittle and have higher crystallinity.
Polyamide microcapsules for controlled release. II. Release characteristics of the microcapsules
Edith Mathiowitz,M.D. Cohen +1 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors investigated microcapsules of various polyamides as regards their release characteristics at room temperature, at 100/dgC, and on being heated at a uniform rate.
Polyamide microcapsules for controlled release. V. Photochemical release
Edith Mathiowitz,M.D. Cohen +1 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a model for photorupture (the "fission" model) was developed, starting from the behaviour of individual microcapsules and integrating over the whole population.
Polyamide microcapsules for controlled release. IV. Effects of swelling
Edith Mathiowitz,M.D. Cohen +1 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the rates of release of azobenzene from microcapsules of various polyamides into various alcohols were reported, and the rates depend on the nature of the membrane polymer and on the size and properties of the alcohol molecule.
