The E-cadherin/catenin complex in invasion and metastasis.
TL;DR: Cancer cells are genetically predisposed to contribute to the formation of a malignant tumor, but penetrate into the surrounding normal tissues and give access to the circulation, and open a gate to metastatic dissemination.

Invasion promoter versus invasion suppressor molecules: the paradigm of E-cadherin
TL;DR: Experiments in vitro and in vivo, as well as observations on human cancers have put forward the cell-cell adhesion molecule E-cadherin (L-CAM; uvomorulin) as a regulator of epithelial organization and an invasion suppressor.

The αE-catenin gene (CTNNA1) acts as an invasion-suppressor gene in human colon cancer cells
Stefan Vermeulen,Friedel Nollet,Erik Teugels,K Vennekens,F Malfait,Jan Philippé,Franki Speleman,M. Bracke,F. Van Roy,Marcus Mareel +9 more
TL;DR: It is shown that one allele of the αE-catenin (CTNNA1) gene is mutated in the human colon cancer cell family HCT-8, which is identical to H CT-15, DLD-1 and HRT-18.

Effect of catechins and citrus flavonoids on invasion in vitro.
TL;DR: A positive correlation between anti-invasive activity and linking of t-PA to laminin is found and suggests that catechins and citrus flavonoids inhibit invasion in vitro by different mechanisms.
