Durum wheat seedling responses to simultaneous high light and salinity involve a fine reconfiguration of amino acids and carbohydrate metabolism
Pasqualina Woodrow,Loredana F. Ciarmiello,Maria Grazia Annunziata,Severina Pacifico,Federica Iannuzzi,Antonio Mirto,Luisa D'Amelia,Emilia Dell’Aversana,Simona Piccolella,Amodio Fuggi,Petronia Carillo,Petronia Carillo +11 more
TL;DR: The results showed that the complex interplay seen in durum wheat plants under salinity at LL was simplified: GB and antioxidants did not play a main role and the fine tuning of few specific primary metabolites remodeled metabolism and defense processes, playing a key role in the response to simultaneous stresses.

Biostimulant Application with a Tropical Plant Extract Enhances Corchorus olitorius Adaptation to Sub-Optimal Nutrient Regimens by Improving Physiological Parameters
Petronia Carillo,Giuseppe Colla,Christophe El-Nakhel,Paolo Bonini,Luisa D'Amelia,Emilia Dell’Aversana,Antonio Pannico,Maria Giordano,Maria Isabella Sifola,Marios C. Kyriacou,Stefania De Pascale,Youssef Rouphael +11 more
TL;DR: It is confirmed that PE Auxym® acts in a balanced manner on the main metabolic pathways of the plant, regulating the uptake and transport of mineral nutrients and protein synthesis, increasing the accumulation of essential amino acids under full nutritive solutions, and re-distributing nitrogen from amino acids to allow leaf growth and expansion even under sub-optimal nutrient conditions.

Sensory and functional quality characterization of protected designation of origin ‘Piennolo del Vesuvio’ cherry tomato landraces from Campania-Italy
Petronia Carillo,Marios C. Kyriacou,Christophe El-Nakhel,Antonio Pannico,Emilia Dell’Aversana,Luisa D'Amelia,Giuseppe Colla,Gianluca Caruso,Stefania De Pascale,Y. Rouphael +9 more
TL;DR: Characterization encompassed determinations of macro-minerals, soluble carbohydrates, starch, acidity, lycopene, polyphenols, anthocyanins, protein and free amino acids, which will contribute towards the systematic documentation of sensory and functional quality profiles of an important collection of tomato landraces.

Metabolomics for Crop Improvement Against Salinity Stress
Luisa D'Amelia,Emilia Dell’Aversana,Pasqualina Woodrow,Loredana F. Ciarmiello,Petronia Carillo +4 more
- 01 Jan 2018
TL;DR: In the post-genomic era, increasing efforts have been done to describe the relationship between genome and phenotype in plants and metabolome can be considered as the final recipient of biological information flow.

Effect of Thermal Stress on Tissue Ultrastructure and Metabolite Profiles During Initiation of Radiata Pine Somatic Embryogenesis.
Ander Castander-Olarieta,Itziar A. Montalbán,Eliana de Medeiros Oliveira,Emilia Dell’Aversana,Luisa D'Amelia,Petronia Carillo,Neusa Steiner,Hugo Pacheco de Freitas Fraga,Miguel Pedro Guerra,Tomás Goicoa,María Dolores Ugarte,Catia Pereira,Paloma Moncaleán +12 more
TL;DR: Evaluated if the temperature during embryonal mass initiation in radiata pine was critical to the success of somatic embryogenesis, to alter the morphological and ultrastructural organization of embryonal masses at cellular level and to modify the carbohydrate, protein, or amino acid contents.
