The evening complex integrates photoperiod signals to control flowering in rice
Luis Andrade,Yunlong Lu,André M. Cordeiro,J. M. Costa,Philip A. Wigge,Nelson J. M. Saibo,Katja E. Jaeger +6 more
TL;DR: In this article , the evening complex of the circadian clock is found to be essential for the activation of rice evening complex, which is consistent with a key role for the EC in controlling flowering in many diverse species including soybean, barley, Brachypodium, and Arabidopsis.

Phytochrome-Interacting Factors: a promising tool to improve crop productivity.
André M. Cordeiro,Luis Andrade,Catarina C Monteiro,Guilherme Leitão,Philip A. Wigge,Nelson J. M. Saibo +5 more
TL;DR: The current knowledge of PIFs acting as integrators of light and other signals in different crops is discussed, with particular focus on the role of Pifs in responding to different environmental conditions and how this can be used to improve crop productivity.
Light and temperature signals are integrated through a phyB-dependent gene regulatory network in rice.
Bruno Catarino,Luis Andrade,André M. Cordeiro,Pedro Carvalho,Pedro M. Barros,Miguel A. Blázquez,Nelson J. M. Saibo +6 more
TL;DR: This study reveals a phyB-dependent gene regulatory network in rice that integrates light and temperature signals, showing conserved features with Arabidopsis, but with qualitative changes since monocots and eudicots diverged, highlighting evolutionary flexibility for plant adaptation.
