Vitamin D and tyrosine kinase inhibitors in chronic myeloid leukemia.
Leonardo Campiotti,E. Bolzacchini,Matteo Basilio Sutter,Andrea Maria Maresca,Anna Maria Grandi,Luigina Guasti +5 more
TL;DR: Vitamin D levels were dosed in patients affected by CML treated with TKIs of first or second generation, and compared vitamin D levels in other inpatients, to stratify CML patients based on their response to TKI therapy.

Certoparin for the treatment and prevention of thrombosis: pharmacological profile and results from clinical studies.
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors provide a drug evaluation based on literature searches performed through Medline, and review studies on the pharmacological characteristics of certoparin and the clinical trial and post-marketing studies in the field of venous thromboembolism.

Individualized versus standardized analysis of ambulatory blood pressure profile: relationship with left ventricular characteristics.
Anna Maria Grandi,R. Broggi,P. Zanzi,Giovanni Gaudio,R. Santillo,Monica Lamponi,Andrea Bertolini,Luigina Guasti,Achille Venco +8 more
TL;DR: Timing day and night in an individualized way seems to improve the evaluation of nocturnal fall in blood pressure, but does not improve the ability to predict the left ventricle's involvement with ambulatory blood pressure monitoring.

Ambulatory blood pressure parameters after canrenone addition to existing treatment regimens with maximum tolerated dose of angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors/angiotensin II type 1 receptor blockers plus hydrochlorothiazide in uncontrolled hypertensive patients
Luigina Guasti,Giovanni Gaudio,Alessandro Lupi,Marinella D'Avino,Carla Sala,Amedeo Mugellini,V. Vulpis,Salvatore Felis,Riccardo Sarzani,Massimo Vanasia,Pamela Maffioli,Giuseppe Derosa +11 more
TL;DR: Canrenone addition to ACE inhibitors or AT1R antagonists plus HCT was associated with a significant reduction of 24 h BP and to an increased number of patients meeting 24 h ABPM targets in a clinical setting of uncontrolled stage 1 or 2 hypertension.

One-year antihypertensive treatment with amlodipine: effects on 24-hour blood pressure and left ventricular anatomy and function.
TL;DR: The therapy significantly lowered blood pressure, without changes in heart rate, and amlodipine is able to induce regression of left ventricular diastolic function and no changes of systolic function.
