Green Synthesis of Silver Nanoparticles with Antibacterial Activity Using Various Medicinal Plant Extracts: Morphology and Antibacterial Efficacy.
Aneta Salayová,Zdenka Bedlovičová,Nina Daneu,Matej Baláž,Zdenka Bujňáková,Ľudmila Balážová,Ľudmila Tkáčiková +6 more
TL;DR: A green synthetic route for the production of silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) using five different aqueous plant extracts, namely, Berberis vulgaris, Brassica nigra, Capsella bursa-pastoris, Lavandula angustifolia and Origanum vulgare, was investigated in this paper.

Bio-mechanochemical synthesis of silver nanoparticles with antibacterial activity
Matej Baláž,Nina Daneu,Ľudmila Balážová,Erika Dutková,Ľudmila Tkáčiková,Jaroslav Briančin,Mária Vargová,Miriama Balážová,Anna Zorkovská,Peter Baláž +9 more
TL;DR: In this article, a bio-mechanochemical approach combining mechanochemistry (ball milling) and green synthesis for the first time, silver nanoparticles (Ag NPs) with antibacterial activity were successfully synthesized.

Anti-inflammatory and immunoregulatory effects of flax-seed oil and Lactobacillus plantarum - Biocenol™ LP96 in gnotobiotic pigs challenged with enterotoxigenic Escherichia coli.
M. Chytilová,Dagmar Mudroňová,Radomíra Nemcová,Soňa Gancarčíková,Viktor Buleca,Jana Koščová,Ľudmila Tkáčiková +6 more
TL;DR: Results indicate that probiotic L. plantarum in combination with flax-seed oil rich in n-3 PUFAs has anti-inflammatory properties, stimulates Th1-mediated cell immunity and phagocytosis, and tends to regulate the inflammatory response induced by ETEC.

Mechanochemistry as an Alternative Method of Green Synthesis of Silver Nanoparticles with Antibacterial Activity: A Comparative Study.
Matej Baláž,Zdenka Bedlovičová,Nina Daneu,Patrik Siksa,Libor Sokoli,Ľudmila Tkáčiková,Aneta Salayová,Róbert Džunda,Mária Kováčová,Radovan Bureš,Zdenka Bujňáková +10 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors compared mechanochemical synthesis of green and traditional green synthesis of silver nanoparticles in a comparative manner by comparing the products obtained using both methodologies and different characterization methods.

Pheno- and genotyping of Staphylococcus aureus isolates of sheep origin.
TL;DR: The aim of the study was to determine the prevalence of genes encoding virulence factors in Staphylococcus aureus strains isolated from raw sheep milk, sheep cheese and Bryndza cheese and the parallel antibiotic resistance study, which found isolates were resistant to at least one of the 11 tested antibiotics.
