Fate of arsenate following arsenite oxidation in Agrobacterium tumefaciens GW4
Qian Wang,Dong Qin,Shengzhe Zhang,Lu Wang,Jingxin Li,Christopher Rensing,Timothy R. McDermott,Gejiao Wang +7 more
TL;DR: Thin-layer chromatography and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry analysis suggested the presence of arsenolipids in membranes, presumably as part of the bilayer structure of the cell membrane and replacing Pi under Pi-limiting conditions.

Phosphate starvation response controls genes required to synthesize the phosphate analog arsenate.
Qian Wang,Yoon-Suk Kang,Abdullah Alowaifeer,Kaixiang Shi,Xia Fan,Lu Wang,Jonathan Jetter,Brian Bothner,Gejiao Wang,Timothy R. McDermott +9 more
TL;DR: It is concluded that AsIII oxidation is logically part of the bacterial PSR, enabling the synthesis of the phosphate analog AsV to replace phosphorus in specific biomolecules or to synthesize other molecules capable of a similar function, although not for total replacement of cellular phosphate.

An Oxidoreductase AioE is Responsible for Bacterial Arsenite Oxidation and Resistance.
TL;DR: The results indicate that AioE may act as a novel AsIII oxidation electron transporter associated with NADH generation and the essential of aioE for AsIII resistance is also reasonable.
Arsenate induced changes in bacterial metabolite and lipid pools during phosphate stress
Weiping Zhuang,Weiping Zhuang,Narayanaganesh Balasubramanian,Lu Wang,Qian Wang,Timothy R. McDermott,Valérie Copié,Gejiao Wang,Brian Bothner +8 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the impacts of arsenate and low phosphate on intracellular metabolite and lipid profiles of Agrobacterium tumefaciens GW4 were quantified using liquid chromatography-mass spectroscopy (LC-MS) in combination with transcriptional assays and the analysis of intacellular ATP and NADH levels.
