Modulation of Mycoplasma arthritidis-derived superantigen-induced cytokine gene expression by dexamethasone and interleukin-4.
TL;DR: Some of the mechanisms by which MAM-induced proinflammatory monokine gene expression can be downregulated by IL-4 and DEX are illustrated.

Cytokine production in depressed patients.
TL;DR: It is suggested that mood disturbances may result in an increased susceptibility to infectious or neoplastic diseases and the psychological state, and the first studies in psychoneuroimmunology have been conducted.

Differential synthesis of two interleukin-1 receptor antagonist variants and interleukin-8 by peripheral blood neutrophils.
TL;DR: It is shown that peripheral blood polymorphonuclear neutrophils (PMN) are able react to stimulants with differential production of two interleukin (IL)-1 receptor antagonist (IL-1ra) isoforms, secreted IL-1r and the 16kDa intracellular form of IL-2ra, indicating an anti-inflammatory role, enabling PMN to antagonize proinflammatory signals.

Interferon and lymphokine production by human placental and cord blood cells.
TL;DR: Results indicate that fetal T lymphocytes show certain defects of lymphokine production, similar to that of adult and cord blood leukocytes.

TL;DR: Hsp70 1267 A/G SNP is associated with pro-inflammatory cytokine production in healthy elderly and might represent a possible determinant of individual susceptibility to inflammatory diseases.
