TL;DR: In this article, the authors present a microscale (∼100 m) resolution of the wind energy industry's forecast on mountain winds at micro-scale resolution, which requires better microscal techniques.
Mitigating Wake Turbulence Risk During Final Approach via Plate Lines
Frank Holzäpfel,Anton Stephan,Grigory Rotshteyn,Stephan Körner,Norman Wildmann,Lothar Oswald,Thomas Gerz,Günther Borek,Alexander Floh,Christian Kern,Markus Kerschbaum,Roman Nossal,Johannes Schwarzenbacher,Martin Strobel,Lukas Strauss,Clemens Weiß,Sebastian Kauczok,Christian Schiefer,Harald Czekala,Gerrit Maschwitz,Igor N. Smalikho +20 more
TL;DR: To mitigate the risk of wake vortex encounters during final approach, so-called plate lines have been developed in this article, where wake vortices generated by landing aircraft induce secondary vortice at the plates.
