Extracorporeal membrane oxygenation induces short-term loss of high-molecular-weight von Willebrand factor multimers.
Helmuth Tauber,Helmut W. Ott,Werner Streif,Guenter Weigel,Lorin Loacker,Josef Fritz,Anneliese Heinz,Corinna Velik-Salchner +7 more
TL;DR: Loss of HMW vWF multimer bands occurred in patients undergoing ECMO support and resolved after the termination of ECMO, which may at least in part explain increased bleeding tendency during ECMO therapy.

Genotyping of coeliac-specific human leucocyte antigen in children with type 1 diabetes: does this screening method make sense?
Elisabeth Binder,Martina Loinger,Annelies Mühlbacher,Michael Edlinger,Elisabeth Steichen,Dagmar Meraner,Lorin Loacker,Guenter Weigel,Thomas Müller,Elke Fröhlich-Reiterer,Sabine E. Hofer +10 more
TL;DR: The majority of paediatric patients with T1D has positive coeliac-specific HLA genotypes DQ2 and/or DQ8, and genotyping for coeliotropic HLA alleles as a first-line test as recommended in the ESPGHAN guidelines does not seem reasonable.

Serum prolactin in advanced chronic liver disease.
Claudia Ress,Pirmin-A. Maeser,Alexander Tschoner,Lorin Loacker,Karin Salzmann,Gabriele Staudacher,Andreas Melmer,Heinz Zoller,Wolfgang Vogel,Andrea Griesmacher,Herbert Tilg,Ivo Graziadei,Susanne Kaser +12 more
TL;DR: It is hypothesized that in contrast to former studies liver cirrhosis is not a common cause of hyperprolactinemia and that in the absence of co-morbidities or drugs that are known to potentially increase prolactin levels, marked hyper Prolactininemia needs further investigation in patients with liver Cirrhosis.

Increased PD-L1 surface expression on peripheral blood granulocytes and monocytes after vaccination with SARS-CoV2 mRNA or vector vaccine
Lorin Loacker,Janine Kimpel,Zoltán Bánki,Christoph Q. Schmidt,Andrea Griesmacher,Markus Anliker +5 more
TL;DR: In this article , increased PD-L1 surface expression on peripheral blood granulocytes and monocytes after vaccination with SARS-CoV2 mRNA or vector vaccine was reported.
One-Year Follow-Up of COVID-19 Patients Indicates Substantial Assay-Dependent Differences in the Kinetics of SARS-CoV-2 Antibodies
Alexander E. Egger,Sabina Sahanic,Andreas Gleiss,Franz Ratzinger,B. Holzer,Christian Irsara,Nikolaus B. Binder,C. Winkler,Christoph J. Binder,Wilfried Posch,Lorin Loacker,B. Hartmann,Markus Anliker,Guenter Weiss,Thomas Sonnweber,Ivan Tancevski,Andrea Griesmacher,Judith Löffler-Ragg,Gregor Hoermann +18 more
TL;DR: The longitudinal kinetics of antibody levels of 145 unvaccinated coronavirus disease 2019 patients at four visits over 1 year upon convalescence were determined using 8 commercial SARS-CoV-2 antibody assays (from Abbott, DiaSorin, Roche, Siemens, and Technoclone), as well as a virus neutralization test (VNT).
