Quasi-solitonic behavior of self-written waveguides created by photopolymerization.
TL;DR: The results open the door to studies of the optical and electro-optical properties of photopolymerized guides doped by nonlinear optical chromophores and to possible applications in integrated optical devices.

High-Efficiency Second-Harmonic Generation from Hybrid Light Matter States
Thibault Chervy,Jialiang Xu,Jialiang Xu,Yulong Duan,Chunliang Wang,Loic Mager,Maurice Frerejean,Joris A. W. Münninghoff,Paul Tinnemans,James A. Hutchison,Cyriaque Genet,Alan E. Rowan,Alan E. Rowan,Theo Rasing,Thomas W. Ebbesen +14 more
TL;DR: This study reports a novel approach to modify the second order nonlinear optical susceptibility of organic nanofiber crystals by hybridization with the optical modes of microcavities in the strong coupling regime, demonstrating an enhancement of the resonant SHG efficiency of the lower polariton.

Rewritable optical data storage in azobenzene copolymers.
TL;DR: The proposal to encode optical information through the localized depoling of polar chromophores in thin films of grafted polymeric materials with a femtosecond near IR laser source shows that the resulting localized loss in second harmonic generation efficiency can be exploited in data storage applications.

Sylvain Achelle,Jean-Pierre Malval,Stéphane Aloïse,Alberto Barsella,Arnaud Spangenberg,Loic Mager,Huriye Akdas-Kilig,Jean-Luc Fillaut,Bertrand Caro,Françoise Robin-le Guen +9 more
TL;DR: The nonlinear properties and the photophysical behavior of two π-conjugated chromophores that incorporate an electron-deficient pyrimidine core (A) and γ-methylenepyrans as terminal donor groups have been thoroughly investigated.

TL;DR: This study provides useful insights into the morphological control of oligofluorene thin films and how it affects their photophysical and charge transport properties and, because of the low threshold, the tunability of the amplified spontaneous emission and the photostable of the films, these olig ofluorenes are promising candidates for organic solid-state laser applications.
