H1N1 influenza vaccination in HIV-infected women on effective antiretroviral treatment did not induce measurable antigen-driven proliferation of the HIV-1 proviral reservoir.
Thor A. Wagner,Hannah C. Huang,Christen Salyer,Kelly Richardson,Adriana Weinberg,Sharon Nachman,Lisa M. Frenkel,Lisa M. Frenkel +7 more
TL;DR: Antigenic stimulation during effective ART did not have a detectable effect on the genetic makeup of the HIV-1 DNA reservoir and longitudinal comparison of the amount and integration sites of HIV- 1 in antigen-specific cells to chronic infections (such as herpesviruses) may be needed to definitively evaluate whether antigenic stimulation induces proliferation of AIDS-1 infected cells.
Inexpensive workflow for simultaneous monitoring of HIV viral load and detection of SARS-CoV-2 infection
Gaurav Kumar Gulati,Nuttada Panpradist,Samuel W.A. Stewart,Samuel W.A. Stewart,Ingrid A. Beck,Ceejay L Boyce,Ceejay L Boyce,Amy Oreskovic,Claudia García-Morales,Santiago Ávila-Ríos,Peter D Han,Gustavo Reyes-Terán,Lea M. Starita,Lisa M. Frenkel,Lisa M. Frenkel,Barry R. Lutz,James J. Lai +16 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors developed a non-proprietary method to isolate RNA from plasma, nasal secretions (NS), or both, and compared the results obtained using the in-house extraction to those using a commercial extraction kit.
Immunization by exposure to live virus (SIVmne/HIV-2287) during antiretroviral drug prophylaxis may reduce risk of subsequent viral challenge.
Lisa M. Frenkel,LaRene Kuller,Ingrid A. Beck,Che-Chung Tsai,Jaimy P Joy,Thera M. Mulvania,Shiu Lok Hu,David C. Montefiori,David M. Anderson +8 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors showed that repeated exposure to SIVmne or HIV-2287, during antiretroviral prophylaxis, induced binding antibodies in the blood and mucosa, but not neutralizing antibodies or specific cellular immune responses.
Addition to "Isothermal Amplification with a Target-Mimicking Internal Control and Quantitative Lateral Flow Readout for Rapid HIV Viral Load Testing in Low-Resource Settings".

TL;DR: The Altmetric Attention Score as mentioned in this paper is a quantitative measure of the attention that a research article has received online, and it is calculated using a weighted average of the number of articles that have been published in the last few days.
