TL;DR: In this article, the authors evaluated severe (grade 3/4) morbidity and mortality in HIV-exposed uninfected infants and found that introducing prophylactic infant cotrimoxazole significantly decreased the rates of all morbidity outcomes.

TL;DR: Nonadherence to extended postpartum antiretroviral regimens in ‘real world’ settings is likely to be higher than that seen in BAN, and identifying mothers with difficulty adhering to antireTrovirals, and developing effective adherence interventions, will help maximize benefits of antire troviral provision throughout breastfeeding.
