This study examined employee readiness for fine-tuning changes and for corporate transformation changes. It was proposed that employees would report different degrees of readiness for these two types of change and that different variables would be associated with readiness for the two types of change. Results of regression analyses indicated that trust in peers and logistics and system support displayed strong positive relationships with readiness for fine-tuning changes, while trust in senior leaders and self-efficacy displayed strong positive relationships with readiness for corporate transformation changes. The implications of this study focus on the appropriateness of traditional change management strategies in light of findings that multiple change readiness attitudes exist within an organization.

An Examination of the Antecedents of Readiness for Fine-Tuning and Corporate Transformation Changes

We explored whether teams develop shared perceptions regarding the quantity and quality of information and the extent of participation in decision making provided in an environment of continuous change. In addition, we examined whether change climate strength moderated relationships between change climate level and team outcomes. We examined relationships among aggregated change information and change participation and aggregated team outcomes, including two role stressors (i.e., role ambiguity and role overload) and two indicators of well-being (i.e., quality of worklife and distress). Questionnaires were distributed in an Australian law enforcement agency and data were used from 178 teams. Structural equation modelling analyses, controlling for a marker variable, were conducted to examine the main effects of aggregated change information and aggregated change participation on aggregated team outcomes. Results provided support for a model that included method effects due to a marker variable. In this model, change information climate was significantly negatively associated with role ambiguity, role overload, and distress, and significantly positively associated with quality of worklife. Change participation climate was significantly positively associated with quality of worklife. Change climate strength did not moderate relationships among change climate level and team outcomes.

Stemming from leadership theory, this paper aims to investigate the relationship between Transformational leadership and organizational innovation. Relying on a sample of 103..Egyptian corporations,  our findings suggest that transformational leadership affect organizational innovation , top management support mediates the relationship between transformational leadership and innovation input , resource supply mediates the relationship between transformational leadership and innovation outcomes, both of top management support and resource supply mediate the relationship between transformational leadership and innovation process .The discussion section offers implications for transformational leadership and innovation literature , as well as practical implications.. This study contributes to the research stream of transformational leadership, providing insights also to innovationand innovation climate literatureresearch.

The impact of Transformational leadership on the organizational innovation

The impact of team climate on speed of research and development (R&D) project completion was studied in a sample of 33 R&D teams. West's model of team climate for innovation was measured and analysed in relation to project performance ratings, and also in relation to project leaders' estimates of project progress over a 9-month period. Three of the four climate scales (namely participative safety, support for innovation, and task orientation) were significantly correlated with project performance rated by managers and customers, and two scales (namely support for innovation and vision) correlated with project leaders' ratings of project innovation. Additionally, results of hierarchical linear modelling showed that the climate scales participative safety and task orientation each predicted the rate at which projects moved towards completion. Teams with more positive initial ratings of these climate factors progressed significantly faster towards project completion over subsequent months than teams with poorer climate ratings. The results extend previous research that has linked team climate with levels of team innovation and performance, by showing that climate also predicts rate or speed of innovation.

OF THE THESIS The Role of Transformational Leadership Consensus and Innovation Climate Strength in Predicting Employee Attitudes by Lisa Ashley Wright Master of Science in Psychology with a Concentration in Applied Psychology San Diego State University, 2015 Although there has been extensive research on the relationship between transformational leadership (TL) and organizational climate, these studies have typically focused on a team’s average rating of the leader and have failed to address the possibility that team members may not agree about the transformational qualities of their leader. This thesis applied dispersion models to the study of TL to address this gap in the literature. Dispersion models capture variability in responses within an organizational unit. In general, it has been proposed that leadership will have stronger effects when team members agree about the level of leadership in the team. This thesis hypothesized that the positive relationship between TL and innovation climate would be moderated by TL consensus (a dispersion measure), such that innovation climate would be highest when both absolute TL and TL consensus were high, and lowest when TL was low and TL consensus was high. Integrating dispersion models as applied to organizational climate, this thesis hypothesized that climate strength (a dispersion measure) would moderate the positive relationship between innovation climate and attitudes toward a specific innovation, such that attitudes toward a specific innovation would be most positive when innovation climate was high and strong, and least positive when innovation climate was low and strong. Because of past support relating these constructs, it was hypothesized that innovation climate would partially mediate the relationship between TL and attitudes toward a specific innovation. The study utilized data from a large-scale research study of home-based child welfare service providers in the Midwestern U.S. Data were collected from 359 providers whose teams were utilizing a specific innovation beginning at some point during the longitudinal 12-wave study. Each participant and team was assessed at multiple time points. Multilevel analysis was used to analyze the data, properly account for the nesting and simultaneously testing both mediation and moderation effects. Results revealed that the TL interaction hypothesis was supported. The climate interaction hypothesis and the mediation hypothesis were not supported. The results demonstrate the importance of consistent perceptions of leadership in addition to overall high levels of TL. Research and practical implications are discussed.
