Abstract To enhance the security of image data transmission, and address the weaknesses of existing image encryption schemes based on chaotic systems, particularly concerning resistance to differential attacks and the unstable performance of chaotic systems, this article introduces an improved four-dimensional chaotic system and integrates evolutionary operators to propose an image encryption scheme. Firstly, a method for generating pseudo-random sequences associated with the plaintext is designed. The change rate of the ciphertext pixel value exceeds 0.9967 after a slight modification of the plaintext pixel value, significantly improving the plaintext sensitivity and the scheme's ability to resist selected plaintext attacks. Secondly, an individual rearrangement operation is introduced to achieve bit-level scrambling, and pixel-level scrambling is achieved by selection strategy. Subsequently, crossover and mutation operations are incorporated into image encryption. To reflect the randomness of the pairing, we adopt the pseudo-random sequence generated by the chaotic system to control the crossover and mutation operators, and a diffusion operation is performed on selected pixel pairs. Finally, ciphertext feedback is applied. Experimental results and performance analysis demonstrate that the proposed scheme not only enhances the security of encrypted images but also effectively resists noise and cropping attacks. This method effectively meets the high-security requirements of images in network transmission and provides new ideas for further research in the field of image encryption. 

Image encryption scheme based on improved four-dimensional chaotic system and evolutionary operators

In response to the problem of uneven information distribution in DNA encoding, in this article, a new DNA chaotic image encryption algorithm combining serrated spiral scrambling and cross bit plane using lookup table diffusion is proposed. First of all, a four-dimensional hyperchaotic system is proposed, which can produce four interrelated sequences. Next, perform serrated spiral scrambling and index scrambling on the plain image to change the position of pixels. Then DNA is encoded in combination with the crossed bit plane, and then the pixel size is changed by using the new look-up table diffusion. Lastly, DNA decoding is performed to obtain the encrypted image. The test of whether the feasibility and security of the algorithm have been improved can be obtained by analyzing the size of the experimental data and the degree of deviation from the ideal value. After comprehensive analysis, it is concluded that this paper has good encryption effect on the basis of encryption security has also been improved. 

DNA image encryption algorithm based on serrated spiral scrambling and cross bit plane

An image encryption method based on DNA encoding and chaos belongs to the field of information encryption. The increasing rise of divulgence of confidential information of image product content, the improvement of computing power, the enhancement of hacker attack ability, and the convenient duplication and propagation of digital images bring new challenges to the security of digital images. Most of the present image encryption methods which have low security or low efficiency are far from satisfactory. According to the method, scrambling and diffusing are performed in the DNA encoding domain of an interactive image, and XOR operation is performed in the pixel domain, in order to hide the information of the interactive image and to protect the image content. The innovational content of theinvention is that a hybrid operation based on DNA encoding is designed according to the features of digital images, and a novel image encryption method is designed based on the hybrid operation. Experimental results show that the method has high security and a good encryption effect, and can guarantee the safe and reliable transmission of an image under a network platform.

Image encryption using a novel hybrid chaotic map and dynamic permutation-diffusion

The exchange of digital images on the internet has become more convenient, but it has also led to increasing security concerns. Image encryption differs from text encryption, as inherent features such as massive data volume and high pixel correlation make it challenging to apply traditional AES and DES methods to images. This paper introduces a novel local bit-level image encryption algorithm based on chaos. Firstly, a new one-dimensional chaos system named the One-Dimensional Zero Excluded Chaotic Map (1D-ZECM) is designed, possessing features such as approximate global chaos, a broad chaos range, and high Lyapunov exponents, making it well-suited for cryptography. To resist brute force attacks, a hash function is employed to generate the encryption system’s key, further enhanced by using the 1D-ZECM to derive the key stream for the cryptographic system. Unlike traditional encryption methods that encrypt all 8 bits of a pixel, this algorithm focuses on the first six bits of each pixel during the encryption process, as the lower two bits contain less image information. In the diffusion process, the key stream generated by the 1D-ZECM is combined with mod and XOR operations to diffuse the rearranged image. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed encryption algorithm exhibits high security and can resist common attacks. Moreover, when compared to representative algorithms, the proposed algorithm demonstrates better security and efficiency. The encryption algorithm presented in this paper provides a high-quality encrypted output.

The invention relates to the field of DNA encoding, image encryption and error correcting code, and specifically relates to an image encryption error correction method based on DNA encoding. The image encryption error correction method based on DNA encoding includes the steps: according to the gray scale space of an image, bringing forward piecewise linearity chaotic mapping; introducing Hamming code to a DNA sequence set, constructing a Hamming distance constraint condition among sequences and invertibly completing a Hamming distance constraint condition among sequences, and with combination of a GC content constraint condition, constructing a DNA sequence set and designing a combination constraint condition; and utilizing the improved genetic algorithm to design DNA sequences with an error correction function, and using the DNA sequences to encode the encrypted image so as to generate a DNA encoding encryption image which can correct errors. The image encryption error correction method based on DNA encoding has a good encryption effect, and can realize the error correction function.

The invention provides an image encryption method based on the Hash function and an inserting-deleting model and relates to the field of image encryption. The Hash function and an inserting-deleting model of DNA computing are introduced to an image encryption processing. First, operating pixel values by use of the Hash function to obtain a Hash table; scrambling the pixel values according to the Hash table and then performing DNA coding to a scrambled matrix; in addition, the method makes full use of the advantages of the inserting-deleting model; the inserting-deleting model is applied in spreading the pixel values of the image. Simulation results and security analysis show that the method not only has large cipher code space and high sensitivity, but also can resist exhaustive attacks, statistical attacks, and differential attacks, etc., and has good encryption effect. The method is stressed on applying the Hash function and the inserting-deleting model in image encryption.
