Development of automated brightfield double In Situ hybridization (BDISH) application for HER2 gene and chromosome 17 centromere (CEN 17) for breast carcinomas and an assay performance comparison to manual dual color HER2 fluorescence In Situ hybridization (FISH)
Hiroaki Nitta,Beatrice Hauss-Wegrzyniak,Megan Lehrkamp,Adrian E. Murillo,Fabien Gaire,Michael Farrell,Eric Walk,Frédérique Penault-Llorca,Masafumi Kurosumi,Manfred Dietel,Lin Wang,Lin Wang,Margaret Loftus,Margaret Loftus,James Pettay,James Pettay,Raymond R. Tubbs,Raymond R. Tubbs,Thomas M. Grogan,Thomas M. Grogan +19 more
TL;DR: An automated brightfield double in situ hybridization (BDISH) application for HER2 gene and chromosome 17 centromere (CEN 17) targets was successfully developed and it might be able to replace manual two-color HER2 FISH methods.
Silver-enhanced in situ hybridization for detection of polyomavirus DNA in patients with BK virus nephropathy.
Florian R. Fritzsche,Silvio Pianca,Ariana Gaspert,Zsuzsanna Varga,Lin Wang,Michael Farrell,Xiao-Bo Chen,Hans H. Hirsch,Erik Springer,Thomas Fehr,Jonathan Myles,Raymond R. Tubbs,Holger Moch +12 more
TL;DR: The results show that the BK virus SISH is an ancillary tool for the detection of polyomavirus DNA in renal biopsies using bright-field microscopy, however, its diagnostic value in comparison with standard immunohistochemistry seems to be limited.
Number of Lymphoma-Associated-Macrophages (LAM) Is An Independent Predictor of Survival in Patients with Mantle Cell Lymphoma (MCL).
Pedro Farinha,Stephen Opat,Merrill Boyle,Nathalie A. Johnson,Hilary O'Leary,Lin Wang,James R. Cook,Raymond R. Tubbs,Joseph M. Connors,Randy D. Gascoyne +9 more
TL;DR: Both proliferation (quartiles of Ki67+ cells) and TP53 (dichotomized based on cut-off >40%) were significant predictors of OS independent of IPI (OS), suggesting that, similar to FL, the prognostic effect of LAM may be abolished by rituximab.

The Percentage of Cytotoxic T-Cells in Mantle Cell Lymphoma (MCL) Biopsies Predicts Response to Rituximab.
Stephen Opat,Pedro Farinha,Merrill Boyle,Nathalie A. Johnson,Hilary O'Leary,James R. Cook,Raymond R. Tubbs,Lin Wang,Ryan Woods,Joseph M. Connors,Randy D. Gascoyne +10 more
TL;DR: While the non-neoplastic cellular infiltrate often constitutes only a minor fraction of the tumor mass in MCL, it appears to significantly influence response to rituximab therapy.

Silver in situ hybridization (SISH) for determination of HER2 gene status in breast carcinoma: comparison with FISH and assessment of interobserver reproducibility.
Bettina G. Papouchado,Jonathan Myles,Ricardo V. Lloyd,Mark H. Stoler,Andre M. Oliveira,Erinn Downs-Kelly,Adrienne Morey,M. Bilous,Ray B. Nagle,Nichole Prescott,Lin Wang,Lidija Dragovich,Abigail McElhinny,Carole Ferrell Garcia,Jim Ranger-Moore,Heather Free,William Powell,Margaret Loftus,James Pettay,Fabien Gaire,Christopher R. Roberts,Manfred Dietel,Patrick Roche,Thomas M. Grogan,Raymond R. Tubbs +24 more
TL;DR: The overall concordance between SISH and FISH is excellent, and the interpretation of SISH results by pathologists is most reproducible using the HER2/CHR17 ratio.
