Molecular evolution and functional divergence of zebrafish ( Danio rerio ) cryptochrome genes
Chao Liu,Jia Hu,Chunxiang Qu,Lin Wang,Guodong Huang,Pengfei Niu,Zhaomin Zhong,Fashui Hong,Guanghui Wang,John H. Postlethwait,Han Wang +10 more
TL;DR: Comparative genomic analyses revealed that a local duplication of ancestral chordate Cry occurred likely before the first round of vertebrate genome duplication (VGD); following two successive rounds of VGD and subsequent gene losses, coelacanths retained cry1a, cry1b, cry2 and cry3; and molecular evolutionary analyses suggested that zebrafish cry genes have evolved divergent functions, which is further supported by their distinct and rhythmic expression patterns.
Avermectin induces cardiac toxicity in early embryonic stage of zebrafish.
Wenxiao Du,Xuedong Wang,Lin Wang,Mingyong Wang,Chao Liu +4 more
- 01 Dec 2022
TL;DR: Avermectin is a neurotoxin that affects the autonomous behavior of zebrafish and inhibits neurological responses in invertebrates via GABA-chloride channels, and it is mainly effective against animal parasites and insects as discussed by the authors .

Molecular Evolution of Maize Ascorbate Peroxidase Genes and Their Functional Divergence.
TL;DR: The evolutionary history and functional divergence of the maize APX gene family were analyzed through comparative genomic and experimental data on the Internet to provide a basis for cultivating high-yield and resistant maize varieties.
Identification of Key Genes in Atherosclerosis by Combined DNA Methylation and miRNA Expression Analyses
Yankun Cui,Lin Wang,Yanmei Huang,Yongxin Li,Chao Liu,Bingzhi Wang,Zhengyun Zuo,Feng Yao +7 more
- 22 Jul 2022
TL;DR: Ten key genes significantly associated with aberrant DNA methylation and microRNA expression in atherosclerosis are identified and 15 chemicals with potential effects on these genes are suggested, which could be further investigated as candidate drugs for Atherosclerosis.
Genomic Insights Into the Population History and Biological Adaptation of Southwestern Chinese Hmong–Mien People
Yang Liu,Jie Xie,Mengge Wang,Changhui Liu,Jing Hai Zhu,Xing Zou,Wen-Shun Li,Lin Wang,Cuo Leng,Quyi Xu,Hui-Yuan Yeh,Chuan-Chao Wang,Xiaohong Wen,Chao Liu,Guanglin He +14 more
TL;DR: The pilot work emphasized the importance of anthropologically informed sampling and deeply genetic structure reconstruction via whole-genome sequencing in the next step in the deep Chinese Population Genomic Diversity Project (CPGDP), especially in the regions with rich ethnolinguistic diversity.
