General Reaction Mode of Hypervalent Iodine Trifluoromethylation Reagent: A Density Functional Theory Study
TL;DR: In this article, the authors studied the mechanisms of trifluoromethylation with hypervalent iodine trifluromethymylation reagent (Togni's reagent 1) and showed that there are two general reaction modes: (I) Mode-A, acting as a CF3• free radical source.

TL;DR: A Cu-mediated preparation of 2-substitiuted pyrazolo[1,5-a]pyridines from N-benzoylpyridinium imides and terminal alkynes is described using stoichiometric Cu(OAc)2 as both the mediator and the oxidant.
