Exploration potential of shale oil in Chang7 Member, Upper Triassic Yanchang Formation, Ordos Basin, NW China
TL;DR: In this article, a classification criterion of lithofacies for Upper Triassic Chang 7 source rock in Ordos Basin was established based on the correlation between lithology, organic carbon content and logging parameters, from which, the spatial distribution and development scale of two types of shale, black shale and dark massive mudstone, have been predicted.

TL;DR: In this article, a geochemical elements analysis of 289 samples collected from the outcrop sections around and wells drilled in the Ordos Basin and using a series of identification indexes of paleo climate, paleo-salinity and paleo redox conditions, such as CaO/MgO·Al2O3, Sr/Cu, rb/Sr, Rb/K2O, Th/U, V/(V+Ni), the content of element B tested from the mudstone.

TL;DR: Based on the cores from 47 wells and logging data of 130 wells, the main types of sand bodies in the shallow water delta of the Chang 82 sub-member in the Triassic Yanchang Formation, Longdong Area, Ordos Basin were comprehensively analyzed, the distribution characteristics of sand body more than 20 m thick were identified, and the genetic types of the thick sand bodies were sorted out as mentioned in this paper.
