Cardiovascular diseases are a major cause of death worldwide, making early detection and diagnosis critical for reducing mortality and morbidity. The interpretation of complex medical images can be made easier with the use of machine learning algorithms, which could result in more precise cardiovascular imaging diagnosis. In this review paper, we give an overview of the state-of-the-art in machine learning-based cardiovascular imaging, including the datasets, imaging modalities, and algorithms that are currently accessible. We also discuss the major challenges and opportunities in the field and highlight recent advances in machine learning algorithms for automated cardiac image analysis. Specifically, we focus on the use of deep learning and convolutional neural networks for cardiac image segmentation and classification of cardiac conditions, such as heart failure, myocardial infarction, and arrhythmias. We explore the potential of these algorithms to improve the accuracy and efficiency of cardiovascular imaging and discuss the need for standardized datasets and evaluation metrics to enable better comparison of different algorithms. We also discuss the importance of interpretability in machine learning algorithms to enhance trust and transparency in their predictions. Overall, this review provides a comprehensive overview of the current state and future potential of machine learning in cardiovascular imaging, highlighting its significant impact on improving the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular diseases.

Cardiovascular Imaging using Machine Learning: A Review

This research explores the feasibility and impact of using data science over the blood samples to quickly and skillfully identify the fundamental health problems associated with it and construct models to further this cause and geolocate different possibilities of healthcare using effective algorithms. Once data is physically accumulated, predictions of major diseases and the people prone to or already affected by them are notified to the health officials. For the validity and effectiveness of the proposed system, real samples of blood are used. These samples are collected from the different locations within the Nagpur city of Maharashtra State, India. Data was collected during a volunteer-run hemoglobin blood test camp for women living in impoverished areas, a total of 551 samples were collected. The experimental results of the proposed technique have been evaluated based on Hb, RDW%, MCV, RBC, and M-Index.

Anemia Detection and Classification Using Data Analysis of Blood Samples

Multimodal deep learning models utilizing chest X-ray and electronic health record data for predictive screening of acute heart failure in emergency department.

IntroductionWe applied machine learning (ML) to routine bloods, then to advanced haematology data from a full blood count (rawFBC) plus biochemistry, to build predictive models for heart failure, which were then used at population scale. MethodsRoutine blood results from 8,031 patients with heart failure, with equal number of controls, were used in ML training and testing datasets (Split 80:20). NT-proBNP was used for diagnostic comparison. rawFBC metadata was used in a dataset of 698 patients, 314 of whom had heart failure, to train and test ML models (Split 70:30) from rawFBC, rawFBC plus biochemistry and routine bloods. The rawFBC model was used to predict heart failure in a validation dataset of 69,492 FBCs (2.3% heart failure prevalence). ResultsHeart failure was predicted from rawFBC and biochemistry versus rawFBC AUROC 0.93 versus 0.91, 95% CI -0.023 to 0.048, P = 0.5, and predicted from routine bloods and NT-proBNP, AUROC 0.87 versus 0.81, 95% CI 0.004 to 0.097, P = 0.03.
