Microstructure and mechanical properties of hot forging die manufactured by bimetal-layer surfacing technology
TL;DR: In this paper, the temperature field and thermal cycling characteristics of a cast-steel matrix die of an automobile crankshaft were predicted, and the influences of temperature distribution on the microstructure and mechanical properties of the forging die before and after service were studied.

Study on the combination of cobalt-based superalloy and ferrous alloys by bimetal-layer surfacing technology in refabrication of large hot forging dies
TL;DR: In this article, a combination of two ferrous alloys (JXHC30 and JXHC15) was used for refabrication of hot forging dies through bimetal-layer surfacing.

Analysis of service condition of large hot forging die and refabrication of die by bimetal-layer weld surfacing technology with a cobalt-based superalloy and a ferrous alloy
TL;DR: In this paper, a finite element modeling (FEM) analysis was performed on a large hot forging die and the failure mainly occurred in bridge, boss, and groove regions of the die.

- 01 Jul 2015
TL;DR: In this paper, a sandwich layer forging die is used for surfacing a layer of sandwich layer soft welding material which is better in plasticity and lower in yield strength than a cast steel substrate and a double-metal gradient surfacing material between the substrate and the double metal gradient.

- 12 Sep 2017
TL;DR: In this article, a special cast steel used for preparing a large hot-work die under the high temperature and heavy load conditions is described, which is composed of, by mass, 0.35-0.5% of carbon elements, 1.4-1.7% of chromium elements, 2.0% of manganese element, less than or equal to 0.02% of phosphorus elements, and 1.6 -1.3% of molybdenum elements.
