Experimental Analysis of Hydraulic Fracture Growth and Acoustic Emission Response in a Layered Formation
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors used microseismic/acoustic emission (AE) monitoring for understanding hydraulic fracture geometry and stimulated reservoir volume (SRV) during hydraulic fracturing in unconventional reservoirs.

Calculation method of proppant embedment depth in hydraulic fracturing
TL;DR: In this article, a new calculation method of embedment depth considering elastic-plastic deformation was proposed based on the mechanism of proppant embedment into rocks by combining pro-part embedment constitutive equations and contact stresses on the rock-proppant system.

Hydraulic Fracture Growth in a Layered Formation based on Fracturing Experiments and Discrete Element Modeling
TL;DR: In this article, the influence of preexisting bedding planes (BPs) on hydraulic fracture height growth in layered formations was explored, and numerical simulations were conducted to further illustrate the manner in which vertical stress, BP permeability, BP density, pump rate, and fluid viscosity control HF height growth using a 3D discrete element method-based fracturing model.
