Nitrous acid (HONO) and its daytime sources at a rural site during the 2004 PRIDE-PRD experiment in China
Hang Su,Yafang Cheng,Min Shao,Dong Feng Gao,Zhong Ying Yu,Li Min Zeng,J. Slanina,Yuanhang Zhang,Alfred Wiedensohler +8 more
TL;DR: In this paper, an unexplained daytime HONO source, approximately four times faster than the reaction of OH with NO with NO, has been derived from the estimated budget estimation, according to current understanding, this unknown source was attributed to heterogeneous reactions of NO2 on ground and aerosol surfaces.

Observation of nighttime nitrous acid (HONO) formation at a non-urban site during PRIDE-PRD2004 in China
Hang Su,Yafang Cheng,Yafang Cheng,Peng Cheng,Yuanhang Zhang,Shuofei Dong,Li Min Zeng,Xuesong Wang,J. Slanina,Min Shao,Alfred Wiedensohler +10 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors used large sample and scaling methods to calculate the HONO formation rate and found that the observed conversion rate could be explained by the reactions of NO 2 on ground surfaces only if three deposited NO 2s lead to one HONo released.

Mixing state of elemental carbon and non‐light‐absorbing aerosol components derived from in situ particle optical properties at Xinken in Pearl River Delta of China
Yafang Cheng,Yafang Cheng,H. Eichler,Alfred Wiedensohler,Jost Heintzenberg,Yuanhang Zhang,Min Hu,Hartmut Herrmann,Li Min Zeng,Shang Liu,Thomas Gnauk,Erika Brüggemann,Ling-Yan He +12 more
TL;DR: In this article, an internal consistency algorithm was developed to model the mass ratio (r) of externally mixed elemental carbon (EC) to total EC, which minimized the discrepancies between measured and calculated optical properties.
