Large-scale sequencing of flatfish genomes provides insights into the polyphyletic origin of their specialized body plan.
Zhenming Lü,Li Gong,Yandong Ren,Yongjiu Chen,Zhongkai Wang,Liqin Liu,Haorong Li,Xianqing Chen,Zhenzhu Li,Hairong Luo,Hui Jiang,Yan Zeng,Yifan Wang,Kun Wang,Chen Zhang,Haifeng Jiang,Wenting Wan,Yanli Qin,Jianshe Zhang,Liang Zhu,Wei Shi,Shunping He,Bingyu Mao,Wen Wang,Wen Wang,Wen Wang,Xiao-Yu Kong,Yongxin Li,Yongxin Li +28 more
TL;DR: The authors analyzed the genomes of 11 flatfish species representing 9 of the 14 Pleuronectiforme families and concluded that Pleuronectoroidei and Psettodoidei do not form a monophyletic group, suggesting independent origins from different percoid ancestors.
Chromosomal level reference genome of Tachypleus tridentatus provides insights into evolution and adaptation of horseshoe crabs.
Li Gong,Guangyi Fan,Yandong Ren,Yongjiu Chen,Qiang Qiu,Liqin Liu,Yanli Qin,Bingjian Liu,Lihua Jiang,Haorong Li,Yan Zeng,Yan Zeng,Qionghua Gao,Chen Zhang,Zhongkai Wang,Hui Jiang,Jinfu Tian,He Zhang,Xin Liu,Xun Xu,Wen Wang,Wen Wang,Wen Wang,Zhenming Lü,Yongxin Li +24 more
TL;DR: The first chromosome‐level T. tridentatus genome is assembled, and it is proved that this genome is of high quality with contig N50 1.69 Mb, and the effective and unusual immune ability endowed by the expansion and expression of Dscam genes in the horseshoe crab is found.

The complete mitochondrial genome of Trachidermus fasciatus (Scorpaeniformes: Cottidae) and phylogenetic studies of Cottidae.
TL;DR: The phylogenetic tree based on the neighbour joining method was constructed to provide relationship within Cottidae, which could be a useful basis for management of this species.

Large-scale mitochondrial gene rearrangements in the hermit crab Pagurus nigrofascia and phylogenetic analysis of the Anomura.
Li Gong,Hui Jiang,Kehua Zhu,Xinting Lu,Liqin Liu,Bingjian Liu,Lihua Jiang,Yingying Ye,Zhenming Lü +8 more
TL;DR: The present study found that higher- level phylogenetic relationships within Anomura were controversial, compared with the previous studies, and lay foundation for further phylogenetic study of AnomURA.

Phylogenetic analysis of the complete mitochondrial genome of Anguilla japonica (Anguilliformes, Anguillidae).
TL;DR: A phylogenetic tree based on the Neighbour Joining method was constructed to provide relationship within Anguilla, which could be a useful basis for conservation of this species.
