Design, synthesis and bioevaluation of 1,2,4-thiadiazolidine-3,5-dione derivatives as potential GSK-3β inhibitors for the treatment of Alzheimer's disease.
Yong-Xi Dong,Jun Lu,Shanhui Zhang,Lina Chen,Jinlan Wen,Fang Wang,Yongqing Mao,Lei Liu,Ji-Quan Zhang,Shang-Gao Liao,Li Dong +10 more
TL;DR: In this article , two targeted compounds with acryloyl warheads were designed and synthesized, and the selected compound 10a with better neuroprotective effect improved 2.7 fold than that of Tideglusib.

In vivo anti-hyperuricemia and anti-gouty arthritis effects of the ethanol extract from Amomumvillosum Lour.
Li Dong,Shanhui Zhang,Lina Chen,Jun Lu,F. Qing Zhao,Tiemei Long,Jinlan Wen,Jia-Yu Huang,Yuanhu Mao,Zhengfang Qi,Jiquan Zhang,Lei Liu,Yong-Xi Dong +12 more
- 01 May 2023
TL;DR: Wang et al. as mentioned in this paper showed that the ethanol extract of Amomum villosum lour could effectively inhibit the activity of xanthine oxidase and increase the excretion of uric acid via regulation of urate transporters.
11
Synthesis and biological evaluation of N -alkyl-1,4-dihydroquinoline prodrugs of scutellarin methyl ester as neuroprotective agents
TL;DR: The optimized compound 4d was further evaluated by cerebral ischemia/reperfusion in the middle cerebral artery occlusion (MCAO) model and could decrease the neuronal cell damage in CA1 pyramidal neurons in rats, inhibit the activation of autophagy protein beclin 1 and downregulate the expression of apoptotic protein caspase-3.

Conjugates of Tetramethylpyrazine’ metabolites and amino acid as potential antiplatelet agents
Yongxi Dong,Shu-Xia Wu,Ming-Ji Liu,Jia-Yu Huang,Yuanhu Mao,Jiquan Zhang,Zhanzhan Yang,Lei Li,Gang Liu,Shang-Gao Liao,Li Dong +10 more
TL;DR: Wang et al. as mentioned in this paper designed conjugates of TMP-COOH/TMP-OH with amino acids to achieve higher antiplatelet aggregation activity than TMP, and the optimized compound 4a was further proved to reduce clot retraction, prolong the bleeding time, prothrombin time, activated partial thromboplatin time and reduce fibrinogen content.

Hybrid molecules of scutellarein and 3, 5, 6-trimethylpyrazine-2-formic acid linked with polar amino acid for ischemic stroke
TL;DR: Five hybrid molecules of scutellarein and 3, 5, 6-trimethylpyrazine-2-formic acid linked with polar amino acids synthesized showed better protective activity against oxidative damage and antiplatelet aggregation activity than the original drugs, and demonstrated that molecular hybridization strategy could be applicable to develop better agents for ischemic stroke.
